The Fine Art Room November Social – Vanessa Bell and Duncan Grant: Inside Bloomsbury + lunch

Join us for a trip to Tate Britain to see the work of the Bloomsbury Group’s leading figures, Vanessa Bell and Duncan Grant, followed by lunch where you can discuss your thoughts and findings with other artists.
This major retrospective will feature more than 300 works from both artists from collections around the world and include drawings, paintings, textiles, furniture and ceramics that reveal how the duo worked with portraiture, landscapes, still life and abstract themes. The exhibition also features a unique restaging of their artists’ studio from Charleston, their Sussex home, alongside archive material that sheds light on their creative and complex relationship and the connections within their wider circle.
We will visit the exhibition for approximately two and a half hours, giving you ample time to enjoy the show. After our visit, we’ll walk to Pizza Express Millbank (approx. 7 minute walk away) for lunch and to discuss the exhibition.

In order to enjoy the exhibition when it’s not too crowded, we will meet by the entrance of the exhibition around 10.15am with view to entering the show at 10.30am.
The Social is free. However, you will need to pay for:
- Your exhibition ticket
- Your travel to and from Tate Britain (nearest Tube station: Pimlico (Victoria Line))
- Your meal and drinks at the Pizza Express.

– Please do not book your ticket until you receive an email inviting you to do so.
– Please let us know if you intend to come to the exhibition and lunch or just the lunch
– If you want to join us later in the morning, we can see you in the exhibition or afterwards at lunch – but please let us know you’re coming especially if you want to join us for lunch
– You can also join us for just the gallery visit part of the event if you don’t want to come for lunch afterwards
