Art Project: Virtual Research Trip: The Guggenheim Collection

Our monthly virtual research trip was a whirlwind trip around the globe to enjoy an art collection dotted in three locations but are connected via one family – The Guggenheims.

The Guggenheim Collection is spread over three places (four branches of the collection in Berlin, Mexico, the SoHo district in New York City and Las Vegas have since closed) – The Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum is in New York City, The Peggy Guggenheim Collection in Venice and The Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao. A new Guggenheim Museum is currently being built in Abu Dhabi.

Artists could also explore the collection online and make work inspired by artists or work they discovered, interesting, connected or recurrent themes or other ideas that came to mind from the Guggenheim collection.

Here’s a selection of artwork and prepatory studies made by some of the Art Project course artists taking part in the project.

Look out for another gallery of work coming soon…
