Comprised of paintings, drawings and sculptures, the exhibition features work that spans the artist’s career to date. Inspired by artists including Manet and Seurat, Marshall explores ideas around contemporary Black life, the Civil Rights and Black Power movements as well as Afrofuturism and science fiction as well as his own biography, all in Marshall’s distinct style,
Following the exhibition, join us in the RA Cafe (space permitting) to discuss your thoughts on the show.

Event details
We will meet by the main entrance of the RA at 10.30am with view to going into the exhibition at 10.40am.
The Social is free. However, you will need to pay for:
- Your travel to and from the Royal Academy
- Your exhibition ticket
- Your refreshments at the cafe
