A 10 week step-by-step drawing course that combines practical skills with key theory so you can draw with confidence.
The Learn to Draw course covers everything you need to start drawing.
From drawing media and mark-making through to composition, perspective, measuring, proportion, tone, colour and more.
You will also discover various ways and styles of drawing. Explore and discuss drawings from prehistoric times, the Renaissance, 19th and 20th century artists and contemporary examples – all of which inspire your own approach. Handouts also provide you with additional information.
Course level: beginners or anyone who wants to refresh their drawing skills.
Venue: The Fine Art Room – Ealing Broadway
Your course takes place at the Ealing Quaker Meeting House.

The centre is approximately 5 minutes walk from Ealing Broadway Tube station (Central + District Lines, and mainline station 6 minutes journey to / from Paddington). Local bus routes: 65, 112, 207, 226, 297, 427, 483, 607, E1, E2, E7, E8, E9, E10 and E11. Bike racks are available to use on site.
There are a few parking spaces available at the venue but these cannot be reserved / guaranteed. Parking restrictions are in place close to the venue. Paid parking is available at Ealing Broadway station and Ealing Broadway Shopping Centre (approximately 6 minutes walk away).

Your course tutor: Mario Lautier Vella has been teaching beginners how to draw since starting his teaching career in 2011.
A qualified art tutor and professional artist, drawing is a major part of Mario’s own practice. His award-winning drawings have been shown in a number of exhibitions. Mario’s 2017 solo show Home Truths featured 100 new drawings made as part of the 100 Day Project. His work can be found in collections across the UK, Australia, Canada and Malta. Find out more
