Discover the work of a fascinating group of artists and revel in striking colours, intriguing abstraction and avant-garde compositions at the new Expressionists: Kandinsky, Münter and the Blue Rider exhibition.

Featuring drawings, paintings, sculpture, photography and sound, the show centres on the Blue Rider group – a collective of artists including Wassily Kandinsky, Gabriele Münter, Franz Marc, Alexander Sacharoff and Marianne Werefkin. that originated in Munich in 1909 but whose influence can still be seen in contemporary art.

The exhibition explores the group’s origins and intentions and the friendships that were key to the artists’ practices, with over 130 artworks in the exhibition lent by Lenbachhaus, Munich and other collections.

We will visit the exhibition for approximately two hours, giving you ample time to enjoy the show and perhaps sketch in the space. After our visit to the gallery, there is the option to join us for lunch at Zizzi in Bankside (approx. 10 minute walk away) to discuss the exhibition with your fellow artists.
