Degas – Sleep (1883-85). Monotype

Discover how to work with monoprinting – the art of creating a single (mono) print rich in tone and mark by drawing directly onto an inked or painted plate or surface and then pulling a print off it, or by drawing on paper laid onto an inked or painted surface to create a print.

First developed in 17th Century Italy, be inspired by a number of classic and contemporary artists working with monoprinting techniques then explore and experiment with your own ideas and imagery working with both one-colour and multi-colour palettes, plus mixed media techniques.
