The weekly art studio sessions allow you to explore your ideas and make fresh work in a fun and inspiring environment.
The Fine Art Room studio sessions centre around a set assignment which takes place over two weeks – previous assignments have invited artists to respond to a still life arrangement, a specific theme, a particular way of working or their own interests and research.
Artists then work on their pieces over two sessions, creating drawings, paintings, collage or mixed media pieces. You can make a number of works or focus on a single piece over the two sessions.
Please note, due to venue restrictions, paintings can only be made using acrylic or watercolour.
Venue: The Fine Art Room – Hemel Hempstead
Your course takes place at Bennetts End Community Centre in Hemel Hempstead. Bennetts End Community Centre is located at Gatecroft, Hemel Hempstead HP3 9LZ.
There are plenty of free parking spaces available at Bennetts Gate car park on a first-come, first-served basis as well as nearby on-street parking. Bennetts End is also served by a number of local bus routes. See map
Course level: intermediate / advanced- some drawing and painting experience needed. If you’re a beginner, please look at our Learn to draw or Learn to paint courses.
Course materials: Please request a materials list when booking. Paper is provided.
Your course tutor: Mario Lautier-Vella has run popular studio sessions since 2016, helping artists of all levels develop their thinking and skills further. Work from the studio sessions has also been exhibited, with students going on to sell their studio session pieces.
